I don't mind the banner at the top. But every time I scroll down to the bottom of the forum, I get this strange glare from our founder, Alex Plank. Trendy hair and hipster glasses aside, is there a way to remove just the bottom picture from this website? It's on every page.

I haven't seen a harder stare since I was in Basic Training. >_<

Did you know that the longer you spend in eye contact with Alex, even through a photograph, the more control he has over you? It's true. His soul is thought to have taken control of at least 20% of the Autism community. It's all part of a plan to make as many people as possible donate to cover the costs of the big site update...

So I say, keep the pictures!

Yes, I came here to this section to make the very same complaint about that picture, until I noticed that someone had already beaten me to it - damn! :)

So, to the administrators, Alex - whoever is in ultimate charge here - would it be too much to ask that this picture be removed? It's really, really creepy, and I am sure that there must be others here who do not like the impression of someone staring at them whenever they visit Wrong Planet. 'Big Alex is Watching You', LOL.

It's very likely a placeholder ad in case there are no ads to display. Before that ad came along, there were occasionally multimedia ads shown against Alex's policy, and those ads caused people to complain. Since the Alex ad, no multimedia ads.

So - pick your poison.

Word. Lots of those ads lead to crap anyway...which can be confusing for anyone. I choose the unwavering glare over B.S. ads.

Yo Alex, you should smile...life is all about being happy. :)

Nah, it's more fun to read the reoccurring saga of the Plank Portrait.

Or even better - Chrome and AdBlock Plus. ;) See my sig link for info on blocking some other clutter, too.

It's not necessary for phpBB forums to have any advertising at all.

At any rate, I'm using NoScript (add-on for Firefox) to block the Javascript from Googlead Services.
This removes Alex's advert for his own face from the top and bottom of the screen, and also blocks the advertising on the left of the screen as well.

8O I actually prefer it to some of the blogs and imagery on the homepage, it to me is like just a lot of jargon, and its one newsletter I don't intend to necessarily read. Say what you like about him but he kind of still updates this site from time to time including news updates and what not. He has been on W.P just a long time ago. Its not really a sin to leave something for too long. It isn't as if the site has reached its crisis point or destination. He might have sold the site off, but its still his 'baby'.

I think that took about 10-15mins to do between posting on here.
But yes, that is irrelevant because I posted a goofy pic in a forum. I must have endless time on my hands for doing that.
