Hi
I'm new around here, thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 17 year old, Swedish girl(mentally intergender) diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome and ADD. Came here to chat, find interesting information, have a place to turn to when I need help, share experience etc. I'm a student, had to change school so I had one schoolyear for nothing (I had to restart) and this new school (AS/HFA school) got one extra year due to having a slower pace of studies. so yeah, pretty tired of school but I'm getting through. I really like my school so that's positive. When I'm not in school I obsess over dogs/dog psychology (sadly don't own one myself, just train other's and read everything I can) or do artsy stuff like drawing, sculpting, building fursuits every now and then.
I also run a blog about my life with or without autism, due to only seeing blogs from PARENTS of autistics. The blog is at autisticaussie . blogspot . se , without spaces.

Blir glad när jag ser fler svenskar här Den nationella identiteten tycks bli ännu starkare när jag är utomlands (IRL och på internet).

I get happy when I see more swedes around here It seems that the national identity gets stronger when I´m abroad (IRL and on the internet).

We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.
