canceling cool tv show series really piss my off

There is one thing that pisses me off when the show is cool canceled due to low ratings.
The fact that the series has low viewership means only that someone can not appreciate it.

Today I saw a television episode that I really liked "No ordinary familly" as I checked on the internet I saw that there is only one season, which makes me sad. This series reminded me of my other favorite TV series "Fringe"

Fringe ran for 5 seasons. That is actually quite successful (and I always found it to be a X-files rip-off).

Series that I would love to have seen progress further:

- Blade - 1 season
- Firefly - 1 season
- Jericho - 2 seasons
- V (the remake) - 2 seasons

The most recent show cancellation that pissed me off a tiny bit was the "Terminator" series. It only has 2 seasons.

More Firefly would have been great. And now I'll never know how Alphas ends.
We have to remember that TV shows are only incidentally arranged to entertain us. They are primarily vehicles to make money from advertising. No money, no show. We all have bills to pay.

That happened to me too I found Alphas on Netflix, only two seasons.

And what you think about No ordinary familly, i saw only one episode but i already love it, my first thought was Fringe aimed for younger audience.

Fringe makes me think of the what the Lone Gunmen spinoff from the X-Files could have been.

I think I watched it but I do not really remember what it was..

I think a very careful balance needs to be struck, because so many projects can overstay their welcome. For example, I loved "Smallville" as a whole, but that ten years of stories could've been done in six if they'd cut all the constant delays and sudden twists that went nowhere.

Another show I really enjoyed was "Roswell", but it started suffering low ratings almost immediately. The fans managed to keep it alive for 3 years, but nothing lived up to what it could've been. There was constant bickering behind the scenes, about what direction to take things in, and it screwed up the entire ball of wax.

I agree with "Sarah Connor Chronicles" being a severely missed opportunity too; so many stories either got slashed or played out for way too long.

Sadly, it seems like money's the primary concern for most people in Hollywood, and they could care less about what truly reaches people in a story. I actually feel sorry for actors like Summer Glau, who keep getting involved with projects that are shelved without explanation. "The Cape" had an interesting premise, but again, greed got in the way.

Ironically the shows I like that are always cancelled are animated shows.

Spider-Man 90's
The Spectacular Spider-Man
The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Justice League Unlimited

Iam still in anxiety since a little boy thinking the Space Family Robinson never made it home, they are still out there somewhere, getting old whilst waiting for a script that saves them, just one episode was all that was needed.

Cancelled shows are always disappointing when unresolved. Ending on a cliffhanger is even worse. I hate it when they do that.

I was highly upset when they killed that show, esp on a cliff hanger.

So many shows take the first season to get the character stories started, and any kind of story arc.
With "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" they were finally at a point where the chars were becoming interesting....

"Enterprise" was the other show I was miffed when it got canceled. Another case where the story line was finally interesting and poof its gone.

At least Enterprise has four seasons though which is more than the original Star Trek's three seasons. Enterprise also has a real final-episode although a lot of people think it's not that good.

That was weird when the 90s MTV cartoon "Beavis and Butthead" was resurrected for a couple months back in late 2011.

I liked the American "Life on Mars" series and I was glad that it got wrapped up when it got cancelled.
