Does anyone else see the video ads at the bottom of the threads? Anytime they're visible on my screen they're extremely distracting. I started noticing that they'll randomly start playing audio too. This is driving me insane!! !!

I usually block them all, but when I don't, I get these frequently.

You can download adblockers for your browser. I use Adblock Plus and don't see ads anymore.

I usually use an iPad to view this site and lately there have been pop up ads that appear on EVERY page refresh. This is so irritating, one option I have considered is to just stop coming to this site.

One thing that solves the problem is to turn off JavaScript in Safari, killing safari and then restarting it. After I do that, the site loads faster and is far less annoying. It's not a perfect solution since I need JavaScript on for other sites and it is irritating having to go to the trouble to have to shut off JavaScript just because the people who run this site are allowing to to become a collection of intrusive ads piled on top of occasionally useful content.

Just downloaded adblocker. Works great! Thanks.

Go to:

Settings > Wi_Fi > your network > Change your DNS number to:

87.118.111.215 or 80.79.54.55

This will block most ads, along with phising sites.

What are those servers? I couldn't find any info about them.

I'd advise people against changing their DNS settings to servers they don't know and trust. Yes, they can do good things like blocking ads, but they can do bad things, too.
