I'd say you HAVE to quit, as soon as you can. Please stay in the hospital for a while so that you'll be able to take a supervised break from all substances, and please get some psychological help as well to deal with the withdrawl.
I feel, from personal experience dealing with others who have used substances, that some people can use them safely and others can't at all. Different people react to substances in different ways. Weed can bring on intense paranoia and schizophrenia-like symptoms in a small minority of people. It appears that you may be one of these people.
If they are at the point where they interfere with your sanity and your daily activities, it would be a good idea to stop them.
Precisely this. Some people can smoke weed all day long with no problems and lead a perfectly functional existence. On the other hand, some people become lazy and unmotivated while others have psychotic episodes nearly every time they light up. Like anneurysm said, it appears the OP is one of the latter types of people, in which case (s)he should avoid weed at all costs if (s)he values his/her mental health.
