On the title bar it says, "U JUST GOT PWNED BY SKINNY WHITE BOY!! !!". It also says this in many of the places WP was mentioned.

It would probably not be a bad idea for all of us to change our passwords.

My account has been hacked also - CHU GOT HACKED BY ME!! !! G4ngsta.ryan - is the message I got.

It's actually been changed. This G4ngsta guy sucks at spelling. Doesn't he know it's Gangster?

You know NTs, they care more about a cool appearance than about correct spelling

Same here-this is most disturbing. Now my browser history reads (instead of WP) this obnoxious self-promotion by some twit who's mucked up the site. Plus the stats, foreign languages, and kids sections have no member name next to most recent post, with Dec. 31, 1969 as the date.
Grrr.

The no-member thing only happened because atomic-whatshisface (See? Forgot his name already!) got banned for 100% spamming the place. There may be a link between the two.

alex, would a firewall prevent these rashes of hackings??? i do believe the server is in a 24/7 support office building, please suggest higher security!! !!

i do believe theres firewalls for linux, this site needs to be more secure agaisnt hackings perhaps a more secure server entry password???

I do not LIKE recieving verabally abusive emails in my personal email account.

I haven't been here in several months as I was banned for defending myself against the misoginists here [you know.. the 'nice guys' who constantly complain about how women are selfish b*****s for not popping their cherries for pity's sake]. I also left because of the anti-women sentiment in general. Women are usually only welcome here if they are willing to put up and shut up when some loser posts about how much women suck. One even left and started her own forum to make it 'female safe' as 'how to' threads about manipulating and trying to coerce women into sex seemed to be the norm. Not sure if it's changed.. we'll see if this gets deleted I guess.
I had several hate threads dedicated to me which Alex REFUSED to delete [still have the screen shots..] because I didn't like someone carrying on about a gf 'not moaning during sex' [it made him feel 'guilty' for coercing her ] and so I stood up for myself and other women and so was banned [as some would remember]. Alex then apologised.. [for my behaviour ], unbanned me [at the request of several other members and mods] and now I have some weirdo with my email address [..well another weirdo]. I don't want spam or invites from here.. but I already know there's no point in cancelling my membership because all banned members are kept on the list to keep the numbers up thefore making it a 'popular site'.

If someone wants to bring down WP.. best of luck to ya. Just don't drag me into it.

Does he have access to our actual personal e-mail addresses, or just have a means to blindly send a mass e-mail to all Wrong Planet members? I don't want him selling my personal e-mail address to some spammer for $1.

Woah, a men-hater for what I see... We all received the same mail, so don't consider us or the website as culprits. Anyway, I'm sure your email program (or website) has email filters precisely for this kind of emails. As if it were extremely disgusting (that it isn't). You know the saying, sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can't hurt me.

I got the e-mail too and reported it to Gmail as spam before I deleted it. Apparently we're still hacked, but I do like the new color scheme and background img.

cant help but notice not much has been changed. generally when you do this to a site you purge things entirely. I may be able to do something to try and find out more about this guy, if i can persuade him to reply to an email

I don't think I've ever been present at a /real/ hack. That's in a somewhat longer online presence than the WWW has existed (I used to run my own BB[bulletin board], with all the software written by myself, in Motorola 68008 machine code).

Anyway, from looking at the headers on the email I (also) got, it has virtually none. Prior to my mail server the only address is wrong1.inetu.net, which is pretty much invalid.

It seems a little pointless to have gone to the trouble of obscuring the source of the emails, but then messing with the site itself! A bit of a dead give-away.

I hope someone will please insert a gnome into Mr. G.R.

(Still... on the plus side, it has finally got me contributing!)
