In the scene with King Arthur fighting the black knight (link at the bottom), I have yet to figure out how Cleese (black knight) lost his limbs, yet obviously still has them. He was using them in the scene when they were removed, they had motion, meaning that something had to be moving them. Back then there weren't robotics that moved things on their own, so how did they do it??

Most likely actors with the required limb(s) sticking out of the ground but they are in a buried chamber under the ground.

And they did have "robotics" back then...basic remote-controlled electronic actuators to mimic movement.

Possibly, but how were they removed from the Black Knight via King Arthur in the first place?

Monty Python is fun to quote, probably because quoting any kind of meme makes me feel like I can bond better to the larger Internet community. Holy Grail is of course my favorite movie of theirs.
