I love all the classics, but my favorite is "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Lucy's interactions with everyone are pure genius, and I admire that the creators had Linus reciting the account of Jesus' birth. There's a great featurette on YouTube...

My other favorite is probably Rankin & Bass' "Twas the Night Before Christmas", with Father Mouse narrating the tale of his son's antics that angered Santa Claus.

All the Rankin Bass stuff
A Garfield Christmas
It's a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Story
Home Alone 1 & 2
Eloise at Christmastime

But one really rare and hard to find christmas special I strongly recommend is the unedited version of A Muppet Family Christmas. It is a three-way crossover and it is the most charming and heartfelt of Christmas specials. Only watch the unedited version on Youtube if you can find it. The DVD release is horribly edited.

When it comes to television, I always liked the Eek The Cat Christmas specials. I think there were two of them. Back in the day they'd always used to air on the BBC, and I always made sure I caught them.

Then there were the claymation Robbie the Reindeer specials, which I thought were cool. IIRC, the narrator was Robbie Williams, and Robbie was voiced by Ardal O'Hanlon. I remember it had this funny gag where Santa and the reindeer were listening to Seal's Crazy, and it was actually a seal singing 'Crazy', who is then promptly awarded with fish.

The X-Men episode Have Yourself A Morlock Little X-Mas was cool, too. Very sugary sweet, but it'll do for a Christmas special. Lots of funny, almost OOC arguing moments between Jean and Gambit in the kitchen. And Cyclops tries to sing... but fails miserably.

Booky and the secret Santa, a 2007 Canadian production set in the 1930's depression era Toronto, a little girl figures out Mr. Eaton from Eaton's department stores secret identity and befriends him even though he recently laid her dad off, really nice movie.

Merry Christmas Mr. Bean

A Christmas story

National Lampoon's Christmas vacation.

Those are the ones I watch every year, the Booky one is by far the best though.
