if you have any siblings, do they display some autistic traits but do not meet the criteria to be diagnosed as Autism?

My sister Stims, she is a tactile stimmer and will bite her cheeks, runs her fingers on her hands and pick at her finger nails, she also has some repetitive behaviour by watching the same movie over and over again. She is socially awkward bit only because she has Social Phobia, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

My sister had an articulation disorder when she was in Kindergarten and had needed brief speech therapy for it. It wasn't quite as bad as mine, though, where I had a severe language disorder and a moderate articulation disorder.

Nope. My sister was God's little gift to my parents. Probably to make up for the practical joke he pulled when they got me.

Yes, my older brother (25 years old) has extremely poor self-esteem, has executive functioning issues, and tends to shy away from a lot of social situations, and only has had one girlfriend in his life, but that was when he was still at school. These might not mean traits of Asperger's, but like the title of this thread says, displays possible Aspies traits but is not enough to be specified as an ASD. I believe he would probably be a little different if he never grew up with a sister (me) with Asperger's. I did take up a lot of attention from my parents, especially my mum, when I was aged 4-8, because I started showing peculiar behaviour when I was 4, and received a diagnosis of an ASD at 8. I'm only mild myself plus I'm a girl, so I believe that if my brother was a bona fide Aspie too, I'm sure my parents would have recognised it too, being so they began to know all about Asperger's when I was diagnosed. It was 1998 after all. But since my brother became an adult, my mum has been worrying about him on and off. He's even threatened to commit suicide before, due to depression. But any NT, especially young men in their teens and 20s, can become like that, so that doesn't scream out Asperger's at all. But having a sister like me didn't help anything I suppose.

That's my sister also.

In my family the ASD gene seems only to target the male members...

:lmao: My sister doesn't seem to have any autistic traits either. My brother has a few tics, but tics are a 50/50 inheritance in twin studies.

My sister is NT, doesn't have any autistic traits but is very eccentric. She has quite sensitive mental health but that's probably to do with having a crazy upbringing surrounded by aspies.

I'm female with one brother.

My brother hyperfocuses. He was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and again as an adult. I don't think he is on the spectrum.

One of my sisters had difficulties with speech as a child, but that seems to have been the result of a chronic ear infection, so I shouldn't count it. That sister is quite socially adept, and feels sorry for the rest of us who aren't. Funny thing is, I think she has less genuine empathy than we do...

The other sister has some obsessive-compulsive tendencies, very limited social life and tends to have extended conversations about her work...and little else. She has a tendency to hyperfocus, but only on things she cares about. And she can be very difficult to understand, because her vocal tone is very high but her consonants are very soft. She worries a lot, hates change, and always has a need to control her environment. As a child she was also very picky about foods and clothing textures. She has a very strong need to correct injustices. Like me, she has always had better relationships with much younger or older people, rather than her own peers. She is verbally creative, and loves to write.

I'm sure my brother is NT. Though he has disfluency (?) and sometimes his intonation seems forced.

YES. Only these days I'm not so sure they're not autistic.
At this point, I really think most of my family actually is. I'm just the only one who's open to it.
