Are you able to touch raw meat?

For me it grosses me out completely. It completely makes my skin crawl and makes me want to throw up. I will not handle it in any way.

When I lived on my own, I became vegetarian because I would not/could not prepare meat. Now, my hubby cooks because he doesn't want to eat veggie foods. I can't even be in the kitchen when he's making dinner.

No, I don't have this problem.

Of course, the only cooking I do is in the microwave.

I'm the opposite. I can't stand the sight of anything vegetable wise other than potatoes(sauces, herbs, and fruit being an exception), but I'm fine with meat.

I don't mind touching raw meat at all but it is dead things that I don't want to touch. For example when my hamster died I would not touch it and had to have my little brother come in and take it out of it's cage in my room and get rid of it. I know raw meat is from dead things but somehow that is different for me. Sometimes I'll drive to the store just to buy chicken livers to cook and eat. I like to do that every once in a blue moon. I don't have any trouble picking them up with my hands and putting them into the pot to boil but I will very thoroughly wash my hands afterwards. I have an obsession with keeping germs off my hands and wash them too much though the washing after touching raw meat is an important time to wash but I wash them more often then I probably need to and have to lather them with lotion every night or they crack and bleed.

I cannot touch raw meat either.

I am by no means a vegetarian. I am just neurotic and fearful of E. coli poisoning. I also cannot stand to be in the kitchen when my mother prepares raw meat. I also will not pick up a package of raw meat in the supermarket.

Besides my self-diagnosed Asperger's Syndrome, I also have formally diagnosed Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) so that probably explains it. I also compulsively wash my hands before eating any food that requires me to use my bare fingers. I always wash my hands for about 5 minutes when I do need to wash my hands. If I am pressed for time or tired, I will actually go out of my way to serve myself a snack requiring plate and an utensil if I cannot wash my hands. Even then, I will use hand sanitizer to neutralise any possible infectious agents.

Lastly, my culinary skills appear to be at par with Werbert's. The only "cooking" I do involves either the microwave or a toaster. I have absolutely NO proficiency at the stove or oven at all. I cannot even boil rice! I just have no idea when something is ready unless I have the microwave beep tell me so. The only meals I can prepare myself appears to be TV dinners. :D

Touching raw meat is pretty disgusting to me. I can do it, but it's really disturbing.

I work in a grocery store as a courtesy-clerk (bagger), and my plan is that when I turn 18 this coming June the 30th, I am going into the meat department to be a meat cutter.

I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I don't handle food all that much. I am a fast food/eating out person.

I am kind-of a vegetarian in denial.
I don't like meat, and I love animals, but can't stand dead things.

I have no problem touching raw meat. I just won't eat it unless it's cooked. But since I do all of my own cooking, I have to touch it first (as I put it into the broiler or whatever).

I've worked in a grocery store meat department. So touching raw meat is no problem.

Ive not had it raw, but I used to eat rabbit meat all the time for dinner, it was a frequent meal. I used to live on a rabbit ranch that my father owned.
