Some of my favorite films end with an image that says far more than a line of dialog ever could...

"Paris, Texas" Travis drives off into the night after leaving his son, Hunter, with the boy's mother.

"Playtime" as a tour bus makes its way onto the highway heading toward the Paris airport, we see the streetlights that look remarkably like the flowers M. Hulot gives Barbara, the American tourist.

"Millers Crossing" Tom Regan watches as his friend walks away out of his life.

But then again there's the closing line of "Chinatown" - "Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown."

Or "Raising Arizona" - "Maybe it was Utah."

Sarah Conner in Terminator 2: Judgment Day

"The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it, for the first time, with a sense of hope. Because if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too."

The end of "The Shawshank Redemption" when Morgan Freeman's character "Red" is riding on the bus, and Morgan Freeman, in narration, says all the things he's hoping for----then, the last thing he says is: "I hope.....".

The only bad part was when Red sees Andy, they don't go closer with the camera, and instead, zoom OUT. The director said why he did this, on the DVD extras, but I can't remember what he said....

It was something like....

He wanted to keep it a private moment----it SUCKED!! !

Optimus Prime in Transformers: Age of Extinction

"There are mysteries to the universe we were never meant to solve. But who we are and why we are here, are not among them. Those answers we carry inside. I am Optimus Prime, and this message is to my Creators: leave planet Earth alone, 'cause I'm coming for you!"

Anne Boleyn in Anne of the Thousand Days

"Elizabeth shall be a greater queen than any king of yours! She shall rule a greater England than you could ever have built! My Elizabeth shall be queen! And my blood will have been well spent!"

Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech at the end of Selma.

"When will we be free? Soon and very soon. Because you shall reap what you saw. When will we be free? Soon and very soon. Because no lie can live forever."
