I'm still trying to figure all of this out.

I have an ADHD diagnosis, as well as eating disorder, visual spatial LD, and trich, but I don't think that explains the whole picture.

I'm in my 30's, married, and we foster dogs.

I have many special interests but I don't ever do anything with them because they're always changing (though they do get recycled.)

I have stimming (trichotillomania, and I chew the inside of my cheek.)

Food texture is important, though I've gotten less sensitive to this in some ways with age and conscious effort.

Sensitive to smell and sound and textures.

I've always asked "why" which drove my parents crazy.

Anyway, I'm new to learning about asperger and according to the test I took, it's definitely a possibility for me. So I came here to learn more and find out if I "fit" here.

Thanks for reading.

hi cathlynn, I grind my teeth too. (I wear a night guard, do you?) It's nice to meet you too. :) Do you have any pets? We started fostering dogs after our family dog passed away this past summer; it is a way to honor her and give to other dogs. She was my greatest teacher and companion... What are your interests?

I have a very affectionate cat. I sing in the local chorus. I also am a volunteer writer for the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network. I like to cook healthy meals (Mediterranean diet) for me and my husband. I enjoy talking to my husband and sister. I'm also a big facebook fan. I like liberal politics. I used to be a doctor and I like to keep up with medical advances. now I'm a social worker.

I also have a visual spatial learning disorder. map reading is not my strong point. and don't get me started on sports with a ball. I used to be an okay competitive swimmer, though.

so, tell me more about you?

I don't have a night guard because my teeth grinding happens while I'm awake and stressed.

Cathlynn,

It sounds like you have many things you enjoy :) What kind of cat do you have? What type of choir do you sing with (I sang in school.) What type of medicine did you practice; did you study nutrition at all (that would fit with your interest in cooking?)

I have one brother; we aren't very close, but we love each other. I am liberal minded, however I don't follow politics generally speaking. I enjoy music and films and books. I like dogs and camping, fantasy and magic (though I'm not Wiccan as I don't believe in a god/goddess). I have been obsessed with the enneagram and mbti, and crystals and essential oils to name a few.

neutered male tabby cat with early kidney failure - eats special food.

community chorale - we sing classical, patriotic, show tunes, sacred, and spirituals, though I am not religious. probably much like what you sang in school.

what types of music do you enjoy now? what types of films and books?

I was an internist (specializes in physical diseases of adults) with interests in prevention, nutrition and psychiatry.

I went through a phase where I just HAD TO know everyone's Meyers-briggs type. I'm an infj. you?

Is it a gray tabby cat? I always wanted a gray tabby. :)

I like most music except for rap. Some favorites include Enya, Muse, classical guitar, and Jewel's early stuff. What music do you enjoy? Do you have a particular choral preference?

I tend to like fantasy/sci-fi, romance, books turned into films, for example Jane Austen's Emma or the Harry Potter books, and Indie films (same genres in books.) What do you like to read/watch?

I test as an infp with a strong "j" presence. Since I can be pretty chatty (when it comes to my special interests) I've wondered if I'm an "e". Are you familiar with the enneagram?
