Hello to all of you,

I really need your hepl. Does anyone knows a school for Aspergers?
I am the mother of 13-years old Aspie and looking for good school in England.
I am from Slovenia,m moj son is great in English and wish to study in England.

Any advise?

Hi Petra, you might find it helpful to contact the National Autistic Society to talk about the schools they run, and other schools they know of for children with Asperger's. As you're not currently in England, there will be more to organise than just the school, and I think that usually referrals have to be made by local authorities in England, but NAS will be able to give you more detailed information if you explain your own circumstances to them.

Most kids with Aspergers go to mainstream state schools in England. NAS should be able to advise you on which might be the best fit in your area as they do it with varying degrees of success. There are very few special schools which specifically look after ASD kids here and you will need a SEN (special educational need) statement to be considered for a place. The NAS website is a good starting place, but also your local authority website will have a section on school admissions and Special Ed.
