I am tired of these cliche, errant images of the Hippy Jesus. This is what I think the real Jesus looked like, more or less:

and I challenge Hollywood to quite churning out hippy Jesus films like Son of God and make a real film about a radical Jewish rabbi who dare turn on the establishment in favor of something different. The portrait of a daring, brave reformer.

I think he was more a rabbi than shepherd or peasant and that he had the stern look of one of the ancient rabbis.

Pictures of Jesus really scare me. I think I've got a bit of a phobia.

I think it's because of all the supernatural stuff.

It's a bit spooky for me.

I think he was a radical. It's a shame we never get to see the real Jesus.

So why do they make him out to be a miracle worker?

Because Rabbis were more apt to be like this back then. They were multi dimensional and they would help people in many ways. This was before Christianity. So, instead of seeing nuns and whatnot performing various tasks, you saw people like the Rabbi and his apostles.

I've learned more today, than I've learned in the whole of my life.

You wouldn't believe it. I've been backwards and forwards between here and Wikipedia more times than Soft Mick's had hot dinners.

So Jesus was like Mother Teresa then?

He was supposedly a carpenter. A blue collar tradesmen with hard muscles. Likely very 'peasant-like', and not your scholarly rabbi type.

My complaint is about the Jesus in all of the pics my grandma had of him in her Kansas home in which he was Wasp looking guy with blue eyes and auburn hair. He had to have been more semitic looking than that. More like a modern Arab, or an Oriental Jew than a Wasp Kansas Methodist.

But on the other hand - he could be also be interpreted as a political agitator and
revolutionary. "Ive come as lighter fires and wielder of swords"-something like that. If you cherry pick from his words you could come up with many different Jesuses. Its a conundrum.
