Hi all, I am a student and filmmaker in the UK ,currently coming towards the end of my level 3 BTEC in TV and Film. I have a four year plan that includes taking a gap year which I will allocate for experience doing both voluntary and paid work for several local media businesses and then studying a BSC in Film and Television Production, throughout this year I wish to produce several professional video productions, ranging from self-funded projects including two short films as well as a 30-minute animated production which I am billing as my year project to hopefully a few online promotional videos that I would create for multiple business clients, again in the local area.
This year is going to mean a lot for me, and importantly represents several opportunities for practice and collating a plethora of pieces into a professional portfolio before I begin pursuing higher education. This would be in the form of a YouTube channel that would be themed, ran and organised in a similar manner to that of a small media business such as an advertising agency, and should give the impression of being on the level of a serious production company.
Bear in mind that I have been an active YouTuber on and off over the past few years and have spread my videos across multiple channels to represent the format and genre as my interests have changed, from trial and error I now know that this approach doesn't work and that it would be impractical to rebuild my fan and viewer base each time I pursue a new project. Because of this I want to have everything professional under one roof, so to speak, while my less serious YouTube channels would still be up and running, albeit on the backburner, I want this space specifically to show to a potential employer, investor or client etc. It is at this stage that I need to come up with a production name, now I have narrowed down a few choices based on what domain names have been registered in the event that I create a website when I come into that kind of money, as well as taking the genre of production that the production 'company' would be built from. These are namely, short films incl. comedy, sci fi, horror and animations with the general theme being based on a whimsical child-like outlook on life but with a touch of adult wisdom in order to make the most of any given situation, take away from that what you will.
The channel will also be accompanied by an on going Facebook campaign, which will include regular updates on the progress of each production as well as offering video teasers for each of my short films in order to build up hype, this whole thing will be modelled around my annual animated project which is titled, MINI ALiENS, which I could also use for a production name or at the very least use as the groundwork for my Facebook campaign.
Anyway, I digress, the following is a list of potential production names which I will consider to use for all professional video productions I will produce, these have all been checked for domain names and if you have any suggestions based on names above then please check for a domain name before you speak them out.
