Fantastic Planet, an animated film from the 70s remains weird and a little shocking to this day. Humans kept as pets by giant aliens.

Sex and Zen, based on parts of the Taoist classic, The Carnal Prayer Mat. It leaves out a lot of the useful parts of the book, but the film is good for a few laughs.

A recent one would be John Dies at The End. Spoiler alert: John doesn't really die at the end, because the end isn't really the end. It has a lot of time and space manipulation, and how our brains perceive things. Pretty weird stuff.

I was going to say it before I saw you already posted it. lol
*I read the book as a teenager as well*

Also, any of Stanley Kubrik's stuff like A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut.

Then there's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...and the most trippy and freaky (watch while wasted) movies out there are Altered States (William Hurt) and the original Lawnmower Man (the sequels all sucked biggtime).

For a scary trip, watch Event Horizon (my fave Sci-Fi movie) or a 1980's film called 'Scanners'.

Another real trippy film is Johnny Got His Gun - James Hetfield (the movie made famous by Metallica's song 'One').

For a real nostalgic, weird trippy laughing film you can watch the late 1960's sci-fi cult classics like Zardos - Burt Reynolds and Barbarella - Racquel Welch/Jane Fonda (cannot remember now).

The most weirdest, trippiest, totally bizarro etc movie I have EVER seen, is simply called 'Nothing' and here is the trailer for it:

Vincenzo Natali is awesome and so was his movie, 'Cube'.

So, if you people want to watch some weird movies, the above are my personal favourites.

Walkabout was a pretty bizarre and experimental film in its own way, but it really needs watching rather than explaining. In short, a father drives his two children out to the Bush and attempts to kill them for reasons unknown; the children run for it and are left to their own devices, wandering around in the remote Australian wilderness. It gets kind of weird after that...

Did you ever see Picnic at Hanging Rock? It's a similar theme and it may even be from the same director. It's Australian, for sure.

Those are 2 of my favorite Australian movies.
