if they have indeed managed to remove the "burn" from this product, I can see that it would be a dangerous thing for unrestricted public consumption.

Everyone will be carrying around packets of alcohol like tic tacs, pouring powder into water or better yet, mixing packets with alcoholic beverages to create a unique drink. I think there'll be a lot of unintentional overdoses.

As the stomach doesn't have the option of rejecting alcohol poisoning with regurgitation, it's much easier to die from alcohol poisoning by imbibing through the back door.

nutrisystem has long had these sniffer thingies where, when you get the urge to eat a high calorie food you instead sniff on essense of pizza or essense of carrot cake or such, it blunts the appetite by giving its users the essense of a forbidden food without the calories.
