Just recently I find that I have to sign in to the website almost every time I visit it. 8O This never happened before.

I also discovered that I can not access the site while I am on Internet Explorer because I am not able to sign in. Because of that I was assigned a new password which I can never remember. Signing in would be so much easier if I could choose my own password. I can't find any option on the site to do this. Or maybe I just can't find it.

In any case please let me know how I can fix this annoying problem. :x Also would anyone have a clue why I am having this problem with the site. :?:

Thanks.

I'm not sure what's happening with IE (I've never used it!) but having to sign on each time you visit the site may have been avoided earlier because you'd asked your browser to remember the password, and this was somehow not done once you had the new password.

To set your own password, click on the "My Account" link at the top right of any WP screen, then click on "Edit Profile".
Scroll down the screen a little and you'll see "Password" on the left, under all the other options.
Type in your new password into each box (so that the system can check you're not making a mistake with it) and then click on the "Save Profile Changes" button just below.
Log out, then log in again and provide the password you just entered. Depending on the browser you're using, it may ask if you want to remember the password so choosing that will hopefully resolve the situation where you're being asked for it every time.

Would it be possible to display links in a different color? This phrase is a link but it is hard to recognize it as such.

The site as it stands is not under active development so it is very unlikely that code changes will be made (unfortunately this also means several annoying bugs continue to, well, annoy), but you might find this quite useful:

I've tried to delete a couple of unintentionally duplicated posts, but this option seems to have vanished from the edit facility.

By design - it vanishes when someone posts after you on the thread or the time allowed to edit the post (3 days) has elapsed.

I found and removed one post where you'd done the next best thing: edited it to say "duplicate post" - sooner or later one of us will find and remove such posts. Otherwise, you can PM and ask for it to be removed or post a request here:

I'm guessing login is persisted through a cookie. If so, and that cookie is being disallowed or deleted at the end of the session, then a login would be required for the next session. Some privacy managers automatically delete cookies and some browsers have settings to automatically delete cookies under several different circumstances. So, check privacy software settings and browser cookie settings.

I don't understand much of Software Engineer's post above (I've only got one brain, lol), but just to say that I've tried to delete a post just now on the "Be rude to another member" thread (Random section), only an hour or so after posting and with no other posts below. Still wouldn't work.

You'll probably see why I wanted it removed if you read it!

Login is persisted via a cookie. More than likely the editing function is parsed through an if() loop so if under 3 days, then display.
