That's an awesome cover! I'm actually quite surprised by how well they pulled it off. I do agree though, it is missing a bit of something without Trent Reznor's screaming.

On that note, I've always found Linkin Park's cover to be an interesting interpretation. It's less "industrial" than the NIN or Device versions, but it definitely keeps the aggression of the original. I only wish there was a studio version or at least a higher quality upload.

Chester definitely has a penchant for screaming. :P

I never found the LP version particularly compelling, but as you said it's probably because there is no studio version.

If they had recorded a well polished studio version, I have no doubts that it would kick major ass. Really the main problem with the live version is that Chester's vocals are kind of inconsistent. He does some good screams, but for the non-screaming parts of the song it sounds like he hasn't rehearsed it enough.

There's something about this video that just makes it seem insanely... creepy. I don't exactly know how to describe it.

And on a similar note:

I was shuffling my entire library the other day out of boredom, and I stumbled across this gem which I hadn't listened to in years:

Obligatory, since the previous song segues into this one. It's still a great song in its own right:

I recommend cranking your speakers/headphones for these to get the maximum effect. The drums on these tracks kick arse. 8)

Yeah, nothing beats good old Front 242!! I listened through their entire catalog, earlier today. I also just finished checking out a bunch of 16 Volt. The two tracks that stuck in my head the most:

It's impossible for me to pick a favourite track by Front 242, but Headhunter is up there and these ones:

"Death can take a thousand faces, they all look familiar to me. I live in a world of paradox. My willingness to destroy, is your chance for improvement. My hate is your faith, my failure is your victory... A victory that won't last!! !" Too awesome for words :D

Let's not forget, Icon of Coil:

I just noticed you're from Vancouver! That's the hometown of Skinny Puppy and FLA! :D Beautiful city, btw. I'd love to go back there some time.

Yeah man! Left Spine Down, Comaduster and Sebastian Komor (Icon of Coil, Komor Kommando) are all located here, too. I love this city. I've lived around a bit, but the call of this beautiful place always draws me back. I lived in Northern Alberta, when I succumbed to the lure of the oil patch... Well, I've seen enough 40 below temperatures and smelled enough crude oil, for one lifetime!

Back on topic; are you familiar with Comaduster?

Good stuff! Kidney thieves is quite Trip-Hop-esque. They kind of remind me of Collide, though more aggressive and guitar driven. Collide is pretty mellow and a bit more Trip-Hop, than Industrial.

I listened to a whole bunch of Cyanotic, today... So good :D

and just discovered H.EXE. I'm picky about Aggrotech, but man... Blown away!!

Awesome stuff too! (I prefer Aggrotech, personally).

I agree with you about Kidney Thieves and their sound is quite uniquely industrial (with a female singer)!

I have a few songs by H.EXE on my iPod and they are very good too...very good.

I'm trying to find stuff that isn't German though but I am quickly realising that most of this stuff IS - of course, being influenced by Kraftwerk, Daft Punk and Rammstein....but after all, they are the masters of this genre.

If you like H.EXE, also check out D-ToX.

I shall leave you with four clips, the first by D-ToX and the next are two German bands I got into early on in the piece (off a dedication album to a young girl who died of breast cancer called 'When Angel's Die') and the last one is the perfect blend of Industrial Metal and EBM.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I was starting to feel lonely. lol

Agonoize - A Cut Inside My Soul

Nanochrist - Exoskeleton

Just by the by (and while I still remember it), a few years ago, I was very much taken by a Canadian band from Vancouver. I am still a huge fan and I really like Jason Darr (he's a musical genius, but he's a bit up himself).

The band was called Neurosonic and formerly called Out of Your Mouth.

They played over such a wide variety of genres, it was difficult to pin them down to a specific one...so they just got put in the 'Alternative' category.

There are two songs which I consider have a bit of an 'Industrial-ish' sound to them, even though it's probably more Metalcore...I don't know what the hell this genre is! (maybe somebody could please enlighten me).

So, please enjoy the following two songs...the first as Neurosonic and the next as Out Of Your Mouth (Jason Darr's former band).

Are Solar - Neurosonic

Beautiful When You're Mad - Out Of Your Mouth

Yup, my favourite Canadian band right there, folks.

I love sharing and learning about new music. You can never have too much music in your library!! ! I really enjoyed those tracks by Agonize and Nanochrist. Jason Darr's bands are not bad, but not quite my flavour.

Bands of the day for me were Pain and Orgy. Peter Tägtgren is an all time fav musician of mine. He plays every intrument in the studio, for Pain and also is the frontman of an amazing Melodic Death Metal band called Hypocrisy. Can't mention Orgy without bringing up the offshoot band, Julien-K. I also keep thinking about Necro Facility...
