As long as Michael Bay isn't mentioned as a name then I'll be fine.

I think it's a good idea that the stand-alone movies are being handed over to lesser-known directors. However, which Star Wars characters do you think deserve their own stand-alone movies the most?

Boba Fett (or bounty hunters in general) and Wedge should definitely get more airtime. The two most popular minor characters should get some actual backstory.

I actually had my interest peaked by learning that Josh Trank who directed Chronicle is making The Fantastic Four even as we speak.

Boba Fett, Yoda, and Chewbacca should deserve some backstory, rather than being just minor characters. If a stand-alone movie centered around Yoda is produced, Andy Serkis should be cast as a younger Yoda, rather than casting Frank Oz. I mean, Frank Oz obviously can't play Yoda forever!

I'd like to see a back story to Governor Grand Moff Tarkin, particularly his rising up from the academy to his formulation and execution of his infamous "Tarkin Doctrine" in the early days of the empire.

Don't know if I would call Yoda or Chewie "minor" characters but I would like to see where Yoda actually came from and what he did to become a Jedi.
