I liked the comment from the analyst after the US Portugal match. He pointed out that if the US just keeps playing that well, then they can beat Germany. I hope he's right, anyway. I don't think anyone on the US team will lose focus in the closing seconds of a game EVER AGAIN after that shock to the system. Portugal's points come down to mistakes by the other side, and their ability to take advantage of the openings, of course.

I want Argentina to win so people can shut up about Messi only being the greatest when he wins a world cup.

It's still likely that the US will advance, even if they lose to Germany. It might come down to goal differential.

Been a FANTASTIC World Cup so far, Reminds me a little of the Premier League this past season, anyone can beat anyone and the race for the title is wide open. USA has played rather well so far, the Portugal game last night was wild, when they scored the late equalizer, it felt like someone had just punched me in the gut. I'm gonna be heartbroken if we don't make it through to the last 16.

http://msn.foxsports.com/buzzer/story/l ... :foxsports - Uruguay's Luis Suarez took a 'bite' out of crime in today's match against Italy..... and to top things off, one guy from Norway won $5,600 US for betting that he'd do just that (bite someone) - it was a 175-to-1 bet, so the guy put down $32..... yikes. I'll let you write your own Mike Tyson joke here........

Has Luis Suarez always been a biter or is this just a World Cup thing?

I would like very much to see Germany beat the US 4-1. Tired of hearing about the US team all over my TV box.

I'd watch the World Cup if they played on this field:

I think this is the third time he has bitten someone on the field. Once was in the Dutch league when he played (I think) for PSV.

I guess he is notorious for chomping on opponents. Oddsmakers took bets on this happening and people collected.

The US has made it into the Knockout round!

They lost to Germany, but Portugal beat Ghana.

Brazil almost got knocked out by Chile. That would have made me laugh.

A great Sunday of soccer. I feel exhausted right now.

I think I've just watched one of the best games I've ever seen. Well done to a talented Belgium but what a performance from USA to nearly come back from losing 2 late goals. Many a team would have lost heart but the American team not only pulled a goal back, they found the energy and spirit to have the Belgians hanging on till the last seconds with wave after wave of attacks. The fans created a great atmosphere too.

I have to wonder what would have happened if the US had simply attacked from the beginning. They continued to play well defensively even at the end.

What ever happens tonight I am keeping my Costa Rica flag up, it's a beautiful little country and they have done me proud. I will have to replace it with my Yorkshire flag when they win the Cricket County Championship though.

I was a bit into football managements simulations, strategies, rules, budgeting, the player markets and the different levels of leagues, training, sporting injuries and publicity relationship. Because of the Football Manager series of games for a bit.
