Has anyone seen this film? Did you like it? I think it is creepy and has a disturbing end.

The way the women in the town talk to each other is kind of like how I see most people when they have their 'small talk' - "Hello Joanna, how are you?" , "Oh, I'm fine thank you..." blah blah

"Waiting for Mr. Goodbar," from 1976, seems eerily similar. It's about "singles' bars."

Only parts of it--and I agree with you on what I've seen. Granted, that was probably the point.

I think DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES was a parody of the idea, especially Bree Van de Camp.

I thought it was intolerable and boring. The remake was even worse.

The movie is a pretty accurate metaphor. Realistically, though, if they wanted to have sex with robots, they could have done that without murdering their wives.

I saw it years and years ago. It was a decent film for it's time, as the women's liberation movement was particularly new back then, and so the notion of men going to extreme measures to literally keep their women in the kitchen and bedroom was especially poignant.
