this is kinda off topic, but i really wanna know this, Why do people make a big deal when other people shower with their dogs? i mean, theres nothing sexual going on, its efficient, saves on water, better control of the dog, you don't get your clothes all wet, you get clean in the process and the dog is less scared, at least its not a bath, but is it because the person is naked? dogs are naked all the time they dont care! can someone please explain to my why its considered weird, gross or creepy to take a shower with your dog?

We had a friend who's cat loved to jump in the shower with him. It's not a problem, there is nothing wrong with it at all.

I do not see what would be weird about that, seems like it would make it easier than bathing or showering the dog seperately. My cat always likes to come in the bathroom when I am in there using the toilet, or she'll hang out in there while I take a shower and am getting dressed but wont go in the shower because like most cats doesn't like water. Don't really see anything weird, I think animals might find it odd we wear clothes since they don't.

I don't see any problem with that. The only problem I see is after the shower if the dog in the bathroom or any where else in the house decides to shake itself dry before you dry him (or her) yourself, because that will just spray water all over the place.
I love dogs.

I have no problem with it. In fact, my dog used to jump in the shower with me all the time when she was a puppy. It might be a little disturbing to house guests, though, if they are using your shower and the dog tries to jump in.

that is one unusual cat, must have some wildcat in it [wildcats aren't averse to water].

I don't see anything wrong with it, either.

That would be the only problem I would see.

My boy cat will come into the bathroom while I'm using the toilet too. (Our bathroom doorknob is currently broken so I can't shut the door completely) And in case anyone's wondering.... no it does not matter to him what function I'm performing in there  He will also come in when I'm taking a bath (then I leave the door open a bit on purpose so the bathroom doesn't get too steamy) and lie himself down on the bath mat beside the tub. I tell him he's "attending his mistress". Sometimes he'll get curious about my bubbles and dip his toes into them

He drinks out of the toilet like a dog too. I always shut the lid but sometimes my roommate will forget. :eew: He's got perfectly fresh cool water in his own bowl, but nooooo.. ...

the concentration of the water being let out feels a lot less at a dogs height then at a humans height, so it might take longer for, say, the shampoo on a dog to be rinsed out than it is for a persons shampoo to be rinsed out, the closer you are to the shower head the more concentration and force of the water. that's one thing i notice. (maybe carry the dog...?)

i tried to take a shower with my 8 month old doggie and she hated it!! and they like to shake themselves so watch out for that too!

I wouldn't want to put my dog through the trauma of seeing me naked.

Off topic .. but couldn't resist..many years ago my husband was walking naked from the shower and decided to shake his bon-bon on the way. The (male , for what it's worth) puppy thought it very curious - whether it was the fact his couldn't shake, the tail was on the wrong end, or it looked like a tasty sausage 8O - that might be a problem.

Lol.I personally think bath time shared with my pup would interfere with my bathing rituals, but that's about it.

I don't know about showering with the dog. But I can deferentially tell you, if you try to take a bath with the cat. You'll end up with scratch marks all over you, that's for sure. I was 9 years old and taking a bath that day, when I decided to pick up the cat and when she saw that water. She turned into a Tasmanian Devil on me.
