Hello.

There's some work I need (Well, want) to do, but I can't do it unless I listen to music. Problem is I'm a bit sick of my current playlist, so I need some good recommendations. Things you've loved and enjoyed. Keep in mind: ALBUMS! Not songs.

Things I hate:
Repetitive songs
Techno/Dance/Trance
Screamo/super death metal

What I like:
Heavy Metal
Rock
Punk/grunge
emotional songs

Some of my favourite artists:
Avenged Sevenfold
Metallica (Only have the Black Album)
Eminem
AC/DC
Adele
Pink
Nirvana
Blink 182
Bon Jovi

I know I have weird taste. Give me your knowledge!

The Diablo Swing Orchestra. The Squid recommends very much, yes?

Sempiternal (the album) by Bring me the Horizon. Is there anything else?

Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd are four pretty decent rock bands.

Pat The Bunny has some really emotional stuff. most people call what he does "folk punk". In my opinon, some of his best stuff was what he came out with when he was in Wingnut Dishwasher's Union & after he got out of rehab, but some of his older stuff from when he was in Johnny Hobo & The Freight Trains is good too. Here are a couple of his songs that you might like:

Free And Alone by Wingnut Dishwasher's Union

We're All Compost in Training by Wingnut Dishwasher's Union

There's a band called Andrew Jackson Jihad with some similar stuff. I think everyone on this website should listen to their song "People" at least once. A Song Dedicated To The Memory Of Stormy The Rabbit is sad, but really good in my own opinion.

People by Andrew Jackson Jihad

A Song Dedicated To The Memory Of Stormy The Rabbit by Andrew Jackson Jihad

Finally, I HIGHLY recommend Rebel Inc. They're a lot like Rage Against The Machine, only their lyrics aren't as repetitive.

A Time to Kill by Rebel Inc

Police State by Rebel Inc

Please let us know what you think of the music we share with you so that we have a better idea of what you would or wouldn't like.

Rocky Stuf:

I second Spok's Beard. V is my favourite album, but I recommend Day for Night as an introduction to their music.

Porcupine Tree

Pearl Jam - Ten

Three Days Grace

Soul Asylum - Grave Dancers Union

Jeff Scott Soto his voice is amazing!

Ronnie James Dio

Europe's Start from the Dark and Secret Society albums are pretty good. Quite rocky. The rest of their stuff is quiet mediocre, but these 2 albums stand out.

Emotional Stuff:

Sam Brown 43 minutes. It is the most beautiful album ever written.

The Bathers - Sweet Deceit

The Blue Nile - Hats

Deathcab for Cutie

Maxio Park - Our Earthly Pleasures

Airbourne

They are also from Australia like AC/DC, one of the bands that influenced their music.

If you like oldschool sounding psychedelic sort of rock than:

I have not listened to the full thing yet am actually doing so right now...but if you like say The Doors, The Beatles and Pink Floyds early days than I'd imagine this would be appealing to.
