Don't go job-hunting in Michigan if you're on the Spectrum. Employers there are generally interested only in employees who mind their own business, don't ask questions, and who don't have special needs (unless they're looking for a few "mentally challenged" individuals who will work for less than Minimum Wage).
And if your special interest does not involve hunting, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, muscle cars, big trucks, consuming vast quantities of alcohol, and abusing your wife and children, you may as well hire yourself out as a gimp to some dom or domme who will be utterly thrilled to beat the ever-loving snot out of you on a daily basis.
I wish this site had a "like" button! I live in the frozen h*** of Michigan as well. If you don't fit their little mold, you are screwed. I once got turned down for a job because of this. I came to the interview well dressed and answered the questions honestly. The other idiot who was interviewing with me dressed very poorly, but liked huntin' and all that other crap that the interviewer was interested in that DID NOT RELATE AT ALL to the job. I am not interested in making friends at work at all. If I were mentally capable enough to work full time, I would still be viewed as unfriendly. I just think that work is what it is. I don't have time or patience for others' bs. I have a hard enough time with trying to control my tendency to meltdown when there is any pressure on me or if I am around too many people and I can't escape to attempt to recover.
