The lights in the dentist's office, for example, are so bright and hurting my eyes. I'm super sensitive to pain, and when people say something doesnt hurt, it does, sometimes a lot. once a doctor put this tiny stick in my throat to see if it's sore, and I gaged. it was horrible. I jumped. and it's so embarrassing, because they think you're a big baby.

and does anyone else have a problem with blood pressure? I cringe when feeling my pulse slamming in my veins.

anyone else likes the pressure from the suit protecting you from radio activity from the X-rays? it's so soothing.

I'm not scared of a doctor per say, it's just the fear of being told that something is really wrong. Same with going to the dentist, not scared of them, just of the needles.

Last time I went to the doctor my blood pressure was 108/62, which is my lowest in years, which is great.

This is my doctor's office:

The best thing about it, however, is the fact that the doctor comes out to get you before your scheduled appointment time so there's close to no waiting in the waiting room.

And you can schedule your appointments onlineusually about a couple hours to an hour in advance without needing to call.

No, seeing the doctor doesn't bother me that much. It's waiting in the waiting-room which is the worst thing for me, because I always fear that there might be a toddler having a tantrum the whole time. Sometimes I don't always hear my name being called if there's a loud screaming toddler. I wish there was a separate waiting-room for young children that are unwell. I do have empathy for them and their parents and everything, but that still doesn't stop me from getting agitated from the noise.

I hate going to see the doctor. Most of my visits there have turned out to be a waste of time. I do feel some fear of going there. They tend to act like authority figures and I don't like the process of trying to get them to listen and help when all they seem to want to do is to fob me off with nothing. I often think I could be a lot more assertive if I didn't first have to spend an unknown time in an ugly waiting room with the noise of screaming kids, hoping I don't miss it when my name is called.

I'm starting to think the place is losing the plot. I got a letter from them written in such bad English that it didn't make sense. I had to search the Web to find out what the initials they used meant - it was some kind of heart function screening. The last sentence in the letter was gobbledegook, and ended with the words "and then with a doctors." Somebody doesn't want to hire trained people to write to the patients.

I don't think I'm especially averse to needles and pain.

I absolutely hate going to the doctor more than anything, I get so nauseous from the anticipation of what is to come I feel like throwing up and dying and I shake and can't speak. Just thinking about it now makes me feel ill. It's not the lights or anything, it's the examination itself. I'd rather than die than go through it again.

I don't necessarily mind seeing doctors, but I often have trouble explaining my problems to them. This has caused me a lot of issues over the years.

That said, I hated my last doctor. He had a condescending attitude, and he kept putting me back on the same antidepressants that I knew did not work.

I've always been cool with it...I'm one of the few people who actually enjoys going to the dentist.

The one person I hate going to, though? The barber. I absolutely hate having to go to the barber's, wait and get my hair cut and I have no idea why. I always put it off for as long as possible.

I hate it too, so much. It's not so bad if they don't touch me for too long, but when they keep their hands on my, yes, it's awful. And blood pressure cuffs I can handle because they're only on a short time, but hate the creepy feeling of only my arm being squeezed too much and then nothing.

I get stressed about appointments of any sort that break my regular routine; doctors, haircuts, renewing my drivers license or whatever. I like my psychiatrist a lot though. He is such a goofball - I sometimes think I need to remind him that I'm the crazy person and he is the shrink.

I despise the endless questions (Do you smoke? Do you wear seatbelts? Do you want a flu vaccination? Did your third great grandmother have testicular cancer?). Over the years I have learned that this kind of invasion of my privacy is a combination of ObamaCare and the insurance companies to determine patient compliance. I end up refusing to answer the questions because in my state, at least, answering can't be required. I tell them that I will be happy to answer any question related to the reason that I am attending their office, but nothing else. Seriously, this kind of datamining is worse than agreeing to hear about a time-share resort. But, time-sharing isn't as invasive or vulnerable to legal records "sharing" or illegal records hacking. That is correct: What gets told to your physician is often legally obligated to be shared with others, and the physician gets paid to comply. I say as little as I possibly can in every instance, refuse many of their questions, admit to little and volunteer nothing. I hate feeling like my physicians' offices are like East German interrogation centers.

Oh, and I usually know much more about my conditions than they do. I have educated several physicians who end up researching my claims and agreeing that I am correct. Sheez.

I like going to the doctor because I feel confident that they can help me. I often leave frustrated because they say I should just get some rest and stress less then I'll be OK.

I also don't like the feeling of my blood slamming against my veins, but it is tolerable for me. It usually starts right after they start releasing the air and my arm will feel very hot for 10 seconds or so.

I'm fine with the doctor, and ok with the dentist. The only times I'm scared of going to either, is if my visit involves a needle or if I have to get a tooth fixed or pulled. But I hate it when I have to get my teeth cleaned, because the tooth paste they use has a gross flavor. :?

I just hate going to doctors, because I spent my childhood going to specialists for my neurological and muscular disabilities.

They weren't able to treat me, despite all tests they ran...

I just grew to hate it all.

I hate going to the doctor so much that for the last 8 years I have purposefully avoided registering with a General Practitioner.
