GRAB an ordinary CD-ROM

Hold it in your hand

on one side you have the +positive numbers
on the other the -ive numbers

put your pionter finger in the hole -> this is zero

no grab you other pionter finger and 'rim' the outside edge of the CD -> the action you are making, going round in cirles -that's infinity.

So, what number represents the non-zero end of a radius?

A cdrom is a number - try to imagine it without a side.

The next time your at the bar... go up to a chick and say... do you want to know what infinity is?

That's just the same thing as trying to imagine infinite without the metaphor. [/unnecesarry aspie logic]

infinity is us.

the big bang was a result of particles randomly coming in and out of existence and one of those shots was the big bang and it happened to produce all the right molecules and particles for us to exist.

our existence is dependent on infinity. for without it, we wouldn't have ever come to be out of the random.

The hour glass shape...

Two Cones with tips pionting to each other, without touching - the air between the tips is zero, each cone is either + or - ive

infinity is the contents of one cone falling out the bootom and going back to the top.

you write too much in metaphors...gives a distant and self-important tone to your writing.

Where do imaginary numbers come into play?

If you wanted too

You could define it as the vector magnitude, and if it helps draw it as a radius to infinty. --the bigger the CD the closer to the solution to PIE -which is infinty.

Direction is nigh.

hardly.....most aspies express more in metaphors verbally....not in written language....there's actually more showing that written language turns out pretty normal. :P

all the same, i wouldn't discourage your expression....but realize i will ask what you're saying if i miss it....i'm not that great at communicating sometimes.

then again, i guess i have my own slang.....i just normally try to keep off of it online.....though it slips through every now and again....

why is that infinity? just because it goes around and around? would it not just simply be a loop?
its like saying 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 ... is infinity. it is not.
