You might hear off of that "Bishounen" (older boys) or "Bishoujo" (older girls), but they tend to be used more to refer to not the target market, but that they include those type of people and usually for the other gender.
Other common sub-genre or lingo to know could include:
Ecchi: this is something a little sexual but not so much to actually be porn like hentai.
harem: usually about a guy who has multiple girls interested in him, you can get "reverse harems" where it is multiple guys on one girl.
Slice of Life: Mostly everyday events instead of fantasy.
Mecha: About giant robots suits.
BL: means boylove, not incredibly common but is about relationships between dudes.
Yuri: BL but the other gender.
CGDCT: (Cute Girls Doing Cute Things) usually connected to slice of life, largely what it sounds like.
Magical Girl: I said it earlier, but if you do not know what it is it is about young girls with magical powers, there has been a fairly large change recently where such shows may be aimed at adults and have darker themes.
Otaku: refers to people really into anime, usually referential of other things in the industry.
Most other genre or sub-genre should be easier to figure out, or at least that is what I can currently think of.
Thanks for the clarification. I was already familiar with the phrase Otaku, which I consider myself in the past few years I've been watching Anime, but it is nice to get some clarity on the lingo.
