I agree. When I was a teenager they had the death and return of Superman story arcs and those were interesting, but outside of that I'm Marvel all the way...especially now that Ben Affleck is the face of Batman, ugh. I think Marvel adds a lot more depth to their characters than D.C. does. I've always thought Superman was kind of cardboard cutout-- he's perfect, therefore he doesn't have to make tough decisions, just fly in and save the day. Marvel for the most part forces their characters to make some pretty tough decisions, and they also make mistakes, which really develops those characters.
As not to hijack the discussion, my favorite D.C. stuff:
Superhero: Aquaman. Don't ask me why, I just always thought he was such a weird bizarre concept that I couldn't help but like him-- especially being from Atlantis and my love of all things ancient Greek.
Supervillain: Bane. The last Batman movie didn't do him justice, he's just a 'roid freak with a bad attitude. In the comics, he's that but also exceptionally smart.
Non superpower friend type: Louis Lane. Typical damsel in distress-- I would show her my super powers any day of the week.
