The last time I and a meltdown, it was cuz I was mad at someone for being a total as*hole all of the time; i just yelled a few lines at him, that had to do with the specific thing I was mad about, and said an insult (he's actually too much of an as*hole to feel emotional about insults from other people). Then i just walked away.

Are most meltdowns like this; what are others like? I thought I was past this part of my life, will it never go away?

A meltdown is a pretty sever thing for me. I fly into a rage and go ballistic. My senses become very scrambled. I don't remember much afterwards, it's all a whirling blur to me. I usually have to be restrained and I'm sore afterwards from muscle tension from struggling. The other kind is where I curl into a ball and do a lot of screaming and crying.
