I study the weather charts and i am interested in the form of clouds,
also i check the temperature alot. I am intereted in the weather climate, the sunshine and the rainfall in the world. I have a lot of books about the weather which are very interesting, pictures of the radar which show hurricanes, typhoons, tornados, thunderstorms, fog. I wonder if there is anybody else who is interested in the weather

I am very interested in the weather. I pay a lot of attention in weather forecasts. I read about weather in the almanac. I am very interested in our climate and clouds etc.

yea, as a matter of fact, i got the weatherbug on my computer for that reason..as if the weather channel wasn't enough (i like the cool jazz music they play as they're displaying your local forecast)..when i hear about a system blowing into town, i'll keep it on and check the radar ever minute or so..

I am only interested in the weather if a severe storm is coming out way. In fact, that is what made me join the local SKYWARN group here. Gives me a reason to go out simply to watch severe storms (and give back to my community).
:D

I used to draw weather charts from observations plotted on maps.

Yes i enjoy weather related subjects it was a something i was focused on for a long time not as much now. I still have ideas how to improve forcasts or more important a real time display of it.

VERY interested in the weather. Mostly because of my longtime fear of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Now I reasearch and follow the weather during severe thunderstorms and it takes my mind off it.

Yesterday I was rather upset at the weather. I left campus to go home for the weekend at about 2:30 or so. Around 4pm a severe thunderstorm struck the campus with large hail.

But I was rewarded, the storm that hit Oshkosh moved east and hit my parents home around 5pm.

It hailed out quite heavily for ten minutes or so. There was more hail than rain.

Fortunately it was small hail. Spring time hail storms here in wisconsin can be nasty becasue the upper atmoshphere is still very cold and the hail tends to be quite hard which does all kinds of wonders to cars, roofs, vegitation, and windows when it gets to be about the size of golfballs and larger.

I was so caught up in the moment it didn't cross my mind to take picture with the digital camera.

Shucks.

If you mean by doing the weather on TV, I would love to do that, but being an on-air weather man is probably the hardest on-air job at a TV station.

A weather man has to ad-lib his entire segment, and have it make sense to the people watching. Not an easy feat to do.

..not to mention, a weatherman is off on his predictions half the time, and will get static from it, not only from the news audience, but probably from friends and family as well..

As a SKYWARN storm spotter in southern Minnesota, I have seen some interesting storms too.

The closest I was to seeing a tornado was in Arcadia WI as I was leaving the Memorial Day Parade. As I was going over the bluff, a spotter in Arcadia reported over the La Crosse Ham Repeater that there was a tornado near his house. I could not get a better view however :(

I have seen some interesting storm phenomena with scud clouds though. (Scud clouds are clouds that are not connected to the storm). I have also seen updraft rotation in storm clouds that would later in Wabasha county for a tornado.

Being part of SKYWARN has made it worth my while to be a amateur radio operator.
