I write slowly, so I've experienced the CAPTCHA even for messages with a low word count
I am becoming frustrated by these additional communication challenges. I have also lost messages before i send them, all these glitches are just making communication more difficult. The ones I remember are time outs, freezing leading to that cloudfare message, or SQL/other error screen and a refresh which wipes the text and seems to be triggered if I have another tab open.

Oh, I wondered why I hadn't got some responses from people. Or maybe they just don't like me, I dunno 
But yeah I've had a lot of problems with messages. The CAPTCHA or whatever it is, the cloudflare. I wonder if some of my messages have actually sent sometimes.

I am becoming frustrated by these additional communication challenges. Yeah, I don't think I said that right..... What I meant was, it used to only happen when I wrote a PM that had a TON of words in it (meaning it was long, down-the-page, AND it took a long time to write it), but I type fairly quickly----like, 40-45wpm----so, I think that means it's happening on practically EVERY PM!

I'm not sure what you mean by "I have also lost messages before I send them"----unless, you mean you have lost them, when you've previewed them? Sometimes, you can hit your "Go Back a Page" button, and it will be there----SOMETIMES, that works!
A suggestion: I "copy and paste" EVERYTHING----even if it's a ONE word post / PM.
I understand how frustrating it is----but, it helps that I'm not the ONLY one experiencing it.....
I don't think having another tab open, affects anything----I've got 73 open (7 tab groups [Firefox browser]; they're not all "loaded", though); 14 of which, are WP tabs (they ARE loaded).

I never experienced the captcha until recently, and it annoys me, because I was irritated anyway by the other long standing glitches. It is not happening to me with every PM, that would be very frustrating, I wouldn't use this site if that happened.
Loosing messages before they send: I click submit and an error message follows, sometimes when I click back it brings me to a cached version of the site instead of the message.
I don't know why the refresh thing happens, I don't initiate it, at most I would have 4/5 tabs open, but it doesn't happen when I only have one tab open. For me this is beyond frustrating, because I will copy a completed message as a precaution before I click send, but constantly copying partial messages as I type is just not feasible.
I copy almost everything, but sometimes I just forget, it does help to know that other people are experiencing this frustration too.
If I click 'send PM' from a profile view it goes into my outbox and stays there.

Oh, okay. It's happened to me, fairly often, cuz I don't know when to SHUT-UP!! LOL
It's been happening to me with, I'd say, 9-out-of-10 PMs----NO MATTER their length, in words, or time it took to write it!!

Meaning, a BLANK post (PM) box? That's happened to me, as well!!

God, that DOES suck rocks!! That doesn't happen, to me. Yeah, that copying, even before you're finished your message, totally sucks!!

Also, the CAPTCHA is now showing-up, even if you only have a 1 or 2 line PM----quite frustrating. I could "accept" it, when I had an extremely long PM (meaning, one that took a long time to write, so the CAPTCHA wanted to make sure you were human), but this has been ridiculous!!
Yes, thanks, i had in mind that people report it here since it's getting worse and worse. A few people tried to message me for days to no avail and I can see how frustrating it can be.
I have had similar issues as well as many mentioned, I even got asked about a PM i didn't send. They got it, I have no idea how
