I think I did ok but am still nervous over it. No 100% yet he has a couple other candidates but sort of worried if a yes. It's a Belks a clothing chain in Florida and I assume the U.S. atleast. The workers and manager were all nice to me. Just not sure I could function well enough. If you recall Mcdonald's = tired/physical/tired/emotional/depression come home go to bed (rinse/repeat). That was Part-time UGH! Would retail be the same thing? Not as much physical but emotional I'm not sure. Put on a fake NT smile and attitude is emotionally taxing.

Plus minimum wage isn't much yet mom seems to be focused on junker car and insurance ASAP learn to drive IMO for me College,Christmas, fun,THEN car. College return to college hopefully loans + job or job only or SOMETHING. 2nd Christmas gifts 3rd fun AKA I'm NOT going to cut out buying video games totally you know at least Nintendo buy ASAP or they stop manufacturing it! 4 FINALLY money saved up job "secure" a few months THEN junker car and insurance how ever much it is. I do not want 100% going towards car stuff and no "fun money" UGH! depressing boring life IMO.

Is retail an ok job for Aspies do you think?

I'll update this if a yes/no possibly sometime next week thanks WP!

I did a retail work experience for 2 weeks working 10-2pm and the agency that put me on the placement told me that if I worked hard enough I would be certified and get a fast track pass skipping the application and interview process. I never heard from them after I finished so I assume I didn't do so well, I did the best I could but I never seem to do enough. It was also tiring, you never get a chance to sit down for a break if you do part-time, physically draining as well as mentally, dealing with different customers every day, the role was customer assistant so what did i expect. I can deal with talking to them as I won't be seeing them ever again, but if they were repeat customers I wouldn't be able to deal with their reactions from past experiences. My staff colleagues also had a chat whenever it was quiet and try to talk me into conversations involving humour, where I pretty much know no humour or dark humour at best.

So if you do want to work in retail, you just need the courage to face criticism from people if you make a wrong call, get along with other people, smile to people (which i find really difficult or even smiling in general since i'm naturally a depressed person so smiling is a rarity).
