I'd freeze up if I was told to do too many things at once. I still do. Sensory overload has always been an issue for me, but it was worse when I was little, to the point where I once tried to hide my head to cover my ears when a band was coming by during a parade. I also had trouble understanding what was and wasn't acceptable on occasion. I'd start going into meltdown whenever I felt like I was getting in trouble too, whether it was at home or school. My parents recognized when I was having one and would let me go off and hide in my room until I calmed down (which, incidentally, sometimes got me out of doing chores and I never really noticed but somehow my baby sister did), but when it happened at school I had to fight to hold back my tears because I didn't want anyone to see me crying.
