I'm starting this thread as a spin-off from another thread in the Haven.
http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... 844#543844

It would be helpful for people who have problems with understanding what the 'unwritten rules' are for posting in a forum actually are. This might be helpful to newbies too, if we can get a few ideas together, maybe then it could be stickied?
I know they're not unbreakable, lol, and I don't want to impose any rules on anyone who posts, but some of us really struggle with this, so please post ideas that seem obvious to you. They may not be so obvious to someone else.

OK, so what are the general social rules for posting here?

One I can think of is not going too far off topic in a thread. Any more?

No swearing. And use decent censors. For example, s*** is a lot more inconspicuous than $#!t. However, this may be allowed if you're in a meltdown situation, or are venting in The Haven. I think that, being an AS and Autism support site, this should be of particular note.
