If you need to wonder where you've heard it before, think of movie scenes like the opening shower of Blade and you're all set. It squeals, burns, and bites like a rabid kitty -- hence the term "acid".

When we get to 808, and 909, we'll have more to rejoice about!

I just finished listening to Acid Hop a few minutes ago, and I didn't hear any acid house (No offense. I just didn't hear any. Then again, I've never heard acid house alone before.). Was it the squeaky noise I kept hearing in the background?

Mich, it's an acid variant -- in "Acid Hop", you hear this sharp, nasal, almost squealing instrument that gets spikier at times. And the "Hop" part is for hip-hop but you are precocious and observant so you already know this.
