You can't edit posts older then 30 minutes.

What if I write an embarrassing post and an hour later i'm like oh s**t what the hell was I thinking?! let me go delete that. But it won't let me delete it. On the inside i'm like "s**t!, I sure hope no one remembers I said that."

At least you can delete threads that no one has responded to yet. If I write a thread about how much Alex sucks, I still have time to delete it. Unless some a**hole responds to it for the sole purpose of it not being deleted.

Add the ability to delete posts older then 30 minutes please because I tend to write embarrassing s**t that I wish I would have never said.

If you can't delete it anymore then you can always ask a moderator to do it for you if it upsets you too much.

Same applies to threads you started yourself.

Also mind you that moderators and Alex himself can still read all the deleted posts as they're just moved to sections of the forum that are only accessible to moderators and Alex.

Why are you mentioning Alex in this?

Presumably as a good example of saying something in haste that could well be regretted later. Insulting the owner of a website would be likely to invite trouble.

I guess the reason for not allowing deletion of a post once somebody has replied is that it would make what remained rather difficult to understand, and it might make the person who had replied look weird.

The 30-minute rule can be awkward, but once you know it's there, the best workaround I know is to think carefully before hitting the "submit" button. If I'm in a bad mood, I routinely wait a while before posting anything I'm not sure of. And if worst comes to worst, I have the option of posting a retraction.

......which is precisely why you should THINK before you post.

Nonsensical topic locked.
