At least you can delete threads that no one has responded to yet. If I write a thread about how much Alex sucks, I still have time to delete it. Unless some as*hole responds to it for the sole purpose of it not being deleted.
Add the ability to delete posts older then 30 minutes please because I tend to write embarrassing s**t that I wish I would have never said.
I guess the reason for not allowing deletion of a post once somebody has replied is that it would make what remained rather difficult to understand, and it might make the person who had replied look weird.
The 30-minute rule can be awkward, but once you know it's there, the best workaround I know is to think carefully before hitting the "submit" button. If I'm in a bad mood, I routinely wait a while before posting anything I'm not sure of. And if worst comes to worst, I have the option of posting a retraction.
