Do you have trouble with body hygiene? I shower infrequently, because I don't feel motivated to do it. People often tell me that I stink.

How infrequently?

I don't shower everyday, but I've not been told I stink or anything.

I usually have a shower six times a week. I don't care much about stinking when I'm out but I want to feel clean when I'm at home. So if I'm staying home, I will have a shower, but if I'm going out, I will go out dirty.

People usually find it hard to tell someone that he/she stinks to his/her face. So even if people don't say anything to you, you might be stinking. I might be stinking but I will never know.

Well, my mum does tell me when I do. A few months ago I'd go quite a few days (though no less than once a week or anything like that, was more than once a week) without showering and she was quick to tell me I did smell, but she hasn't before or since then so I'd assume, based on that, I don't stink. If I do I've got too used to my own body odor or something. I can tell when I do stink and can definitely tell when my hair gets greasy and I like neither of those. :eew:

Can't be bothered with hygiene most of the time. I let myself go for a few weeks then get completely disgusted with myself and scrub until my skin turns into a series of purple patches.

I don't have the best hygiene. I shower before I go out, or when I notice my own odor (usually 1-2 times a week). My mother often tells me that I "stink", but she thinks that everything stinks, so I'm not sure how much to trust her analysis.

In terms of bathing:
At hot or busier days at least once in 1-3 days. NTs here would bath twice if not 4 times a day. (I'm serious!! !)

In cold days, especially rainy days, about twice or trice a week. NTs here would go once a day or once in 2 days. (Once you bath, either be stuck inside or anywhere dry or get dirty or soaked again if all day rains are involved)

I won't go past 5 days, or twice in a day unless it's an emergency or a necessity. No one ever told me I stink except for my mom. (Not that I go out often a lot) No one's avoiding me either, probably because I rarely sweat even in warmer places.

I have OCD and it presents itself in the form of excessive cleaning, including my body. I shower at the least once a day. The other day I showered 3 times. That's pretty normal for me.

When I was younger and my OCD was worse, I actually scrubbed my body so much that I developed a skin problem and had to take medication for it. :|

Omg when I lived by myself I had a similar issue. I hardly showered at all and I'm pretty disgusted by it now.

Nowadays I shower about every 3 days; some people should wash more often though. I think you should wash even if you don't feel motivated to. Then it might become a habit. I've been told to wash before but I'm glad I did get told because you don't always notice if you smell.

I once watched one of those Obsessed with Strange Things shows about this lady who was afraid of water so she never showered. She used disposable wipes to clean herself. She didn't smell bad. They took her to the doctor and he said there wasn't anything medically wrong with what she was doing.

So maybe just use wipes here and there and you won't need to shower? I've also heard that it's better for your hair if you don't wash it. But I agree it must be pretty bad for someone to have said something.

When I'm in the depths of depression I don't do anything but lay in the bed. No showering or anything, but thats normal for depression. Otherwise it depends on what I'm doing and how hot it is outside and if I go outside. If I've been sweating a lot I shower twice a day sometimes. I always shower after I lay out. I may shower every other day sometimes too, but not if I've been sweaty. So it all depends.

On days I don't shower and I'm not depressed I do a PTA bath. That's pits, tits, and ass. I use a washcloth and the bathroom sink and soap.

If it were up to me, i'd shower once every 2-3 days.
However, i am aware that this makes me smell unpleasantly, and since i have a full-time job; i do shower every day (when i work).
in weekends, i often skip a day, especially the sunday

I shower every other day. I used to not shower a lot when I was younger. If I lived by myself I would shower once a week. That's actually not that bad. People bathe too much and it can dry your skin out

Thats what moisturizer is for. It keeps you from having dry skin so the shower can keep you from stinking.

I don't recall what she did for her hair. I sometimes use dry shampoo on the roots of my hair when I'm trying not to overwash it. Maybe she used that. I've read that if you just stop washing your hair completely it stops getting greasy and becomes beautiful, but you have to wait like a month for it to normalize. I could never make it that long.
