So, my aunt's friend is getting her son diagnosed with aspergers, she knows i have aspergers and wants to ask for some advice. Im trying to create a script, answer questions and so forth, but i was wondering, If a parent was getting their child diagnosed and asked for advice from you what would you tell them?

I think it would be useful if you talked about your experience with Asperger's.

I would tell them to accept their child as they are and focus on their strengths, not just their weaknesses. I would also tell them that their child is not going to be "normal", so don't wish for it or make their child feel bad for being different.
