Girls my age often tell me in real life that I'm cute or handsome, but that's worthless because I'm an aspie.
Some people would buy an ugly, but fully functional car. However, nobody would buy a nice-looking car whose engine doesn't work properly.

Why, sure, I call myself cute & even Deadly-HandSome all the time, too ! :D Yes I am & lots of people even agree because it's true (due to my para-normal ability of getting everybody to [eventually] go with my decision[s] ;)).

I have some blurry memories of being told more or less so as a teenager. At that time, I had no idea about the huge difference between men and women when it comes to the power to attract potential partners, and most girls seemed quite friendly to me. I didn't think of dating as something belonging to my own universe, and, while this could in principle have helped me make female friends, any kind of friendship has always proven to be well beyond my reach, too.

I overheard some women saying I was cute a couple of days ago, but as I can't handle any form of attention I reacted and they then laughed and changed their minds. Ho hum. I'm told by a couple of women I'm cute at the pub I work but I'm guessing it's because there's a boundary they think neither of us will cross and thus it is "harmless" or without recourse to say so.

I've been told that many times, including from, but not limited to, a girl who I had a crush on in MS.

not much , and the few times it happen were likely lies.

cute as in personality and from actions yes. but this is mostly from married women who seem to enjoy romance and sillyness so they say its cute and any woman would be lucky to have me for those reasons. single women dont' tend to view it the same way.

I also wonder if sometimes the use of cute in that way is similar to how a puppy is cute.

"hot" is probably the word you're looking for, not "cute".

adorable is another world used to describe me and things I do.

again this seems to mostly be used for kids and puppies. so it confuses me. are they finding me attractive or am I like a puppy to them.

I have been told I am cute but I am pretty sure they are being sarcastic, NTs are masters at sarcasm.

@Sly: I've heard in high school (possibly even young adult life as well), a male being called 'cute' isn't apparently a positive thing.

It is similar to finding a puppy cute, I'd think.

So, it's as if to say, the girl calls the guy cute, but then goes off to instead spend time with the 'hot' guy.

I've heard this time and time again that a guy being 'hot' is better than being 'cute'.

Well, I actually like being cute and see nothing wrong with it, and cute is the compliment I most often get. The way I see it 'cute' isn't just about looks, it's also about personality and how you conduct yourself. 'Hot' might be somewhat about personality (flirtiness and seductiveness), but it's mainly about looks and looks only.

The hot guys can be the hot guys, but if girls think I'm cute, then I want to be the cutest damn guy in school/work/wherever.

Besides, when you think about it 'hotness' is more of a physical thing, a one-time thing, the 'cute person' more is relationship material.

And, obviously, better than being considered ugly.

So, I'd take cute as a compliment, even if it means in a 'puppy' kind of way.
