This is literally the most important question most people need to answer. How would you answer?

I have absolutely no goal's whatsoever. One day I'll die. Between now and then I wake up each day, I pass the time pointlessly each day and then I go to bed.

Well that's too bad. If you are depressed (and super congrats if you are not), I strongly recommend setting a goal of some kind. Making progress in school/work is a good one as it can take a very long time.

This, exactly this.
No point in doing anything cause it's for nothing.
Especially not worth it to work my ass off in a s**t job to die in the end.

My short term goal is 100% dedication in my work for a while.
My long term goal is to be an enterprise.

to krusch my enemiz, see dem driven befoar me, and hear de leimenteishons of de wemen!

other than that; now working a steady, sustainable job for the foreseeable future, so I plan to use that to build myself and my life up to a reasonable and sustainable standard. After that, and perhaps after some personal development, I hope to go into higher education again, most preferrably hard science (biology). If and when I get a degree in that, work in that field until such time as I can grow a long white beard and go live in a very tall stone tower and/or buy my own personal rigid-body airship.

It's okay I'm not depressed at all, I'm just pragmatic. In my own way I guess I'm even moderately happy.

Why would I want to have just one goal? :?

I have many.

I'm going to have fun, make money, and change the world. 8)

I have health and fitness goals, business/financial goals, goals in my contributions to industrial engineering & medicine, relationship goals, sports/recreation goals.. all kinds of goals. Bit by bit I work on them, and myself, every day. Slowly but surely I'll achieve them.

My ultimate goal right now is to travel to my girlfriend (since she lives far away from me), live with her, and be happy together. My steps include finishing university, saving some money, finding a way to move, and settling there by getting a job.

I have a few minor aims too, but I don't think "buying a new phone" would be a proper answer to your question. :)

I just need to stick around for as long as my kids still need me. I don't feel there's anything to achieve, who would I be trying to impress? But I'd like to think that there will be a few more notable advances in technology that will make a big and positive impact on my life before it's time for me to depart this world. I like the idea of having my own self-drive car as I've never been able to drive myself.

As far as mid/short term things go I want to be a better artist(photography and drawing/painting), and I want to get better at programming, I want to finish my special project and have it grow into it's full potential, I want to learn how to make video games, finish my bachelors degree quickly, I want to begin learning to overcome my social anxiety too and start driving and going out more too.

My longer term goals are to grow as a person (so many things fit in that statement), and learn more about everything I am interested in to the point (but not stopping at that point) where I can do cool things with them, start at least one company, and travel the world. I have more goals than that, some loftier and some must smaller, but those are some things I can pull off the top of my head.

I just want to do things, and create things, and change things, and enjoy life in this blip of time I have in my meatsuit.

Ending my pitiful existence was my sole goal in life, but committing suicide - no matter what one's circumstances are - is immensely difficult. Now I am attempting to recant these 'negative' thought patterns of mine by exploring vocational opportunities and scouring the web for various courses. But life does still seem utterly pointless, though.
