Never actually "met" the man/woman

But I trust Cockroach's judgement.

Actually I agree with this topic (how could I not?) but there is one such already. Ok, let's start a new one.

I respect Murihiku for his unbiased attitude towards different cultures, languages, ethnic groups and what not. I have never taken this up, but I have learned tons of things from him about Polynesian cultures. Good work Murihiku. You should be elected the PM of New Zealand.

Yes, Murihiku for Prime Minister. :D

We can probably put him in charge of the flag debate too.

He shares my interest in languages, and he always has plenty of interesting thoughts on the world in general. Plus he is a lot of fun. :D

Moomz, are you saying the new flag will be of Murihiku's design?

No, just that he would do a better job of organising it. We have a choice of three flags that look the same, but in different colour variations, and one that's different. They all look more like corporate logos than a national flag.

You guys are all really sweet.
Except you, Mooms ... you're kind of an instigator. :P Nah, you're awesome, too.

And yeah, I'm a Kiwi guy living in Australia. Hence the avatar. I immigrated here when I was a kid – that certainly made for an interesting childhood.

Ugh ... life in the public spotlight. No thanks! Mind you, it's more job security than being the PM of Australia. (Sorry, I had to.) I couldn't handle it. I was even invited to speak before a parliamentary select committee once, but I wussed out.

And I've loved learning about Nordic countries from you and Skilpadde. And learning about Russia. :P I'm so fascinated with life in Nordic countries. They seem to do so well.

IKR?! I don't think they had even one vexillologist on the consideration panel.
What a way to conduct a flag referendum!

^Pretty amazing that you were asked, though.

Russian is my next language up, the course is due to release (in Beta, anyway) on Duolingo in the next few weeks. 8)

On hold at the moment. I've been struggling with it too much on my own. I'm hoping for the course to come to Duolingo at some point, which works really well for me. In the meantime I've been concentrating on French and Italian, and playing with Norwegian.

Eesh, I hope you can manage all those languages, Mooms. All of those at once would do my head in.

My head has long been done in Murihiku. Studying languages actually gives me a focus which helps keep me sane. Most of the time. :P
