Are individuals with Autism often taller than average?

I've noticed that they tend to be taller. I'm not saying that they are all tall, but I've noticed that a person who is Autistic is more often over 5'11" (which is the start of tall for men in my opinion). I'm about 6'2" (possibly 6'1.5" or 6'2.5" as it's possible that I'm up to half of an inch over or under the mark as well since I've been measured at 6'1 1/2" and at 6'2 1/2"), and most of my friends who have this condition as well range from 5'11"-6'1" (one is exactly my height). It's rare for me to have a friend who doesn't have Autism who is 5'10"+.

I'm 5 foot 4.75 inches. There's no correlation between height and autism.

I don't believe autism has anything to do with height, because I'm only 5'1". Your height is mostly controlled by genetics.

Perhaps, I largely agree with thinking that broad autism phenotype means a predominance of extra Homo Neanderthalensis traits, in my case at least. I'm ~5'11", which actually would be really tall in terms of feudal Europe... I don't recall anyone I know with a definite case who's particularly short.

I'd say no, there would be a normal distribution of heights. My grandson is 18 and is 7 feet tall already. However you can't generalise from a single case. He is the only boy anywhere near that height at his high school, despite a large roll of boys. When I go there, I can find him instantly!

Nope, I don't think so. 5' 1 1/2" lol My kiddo is taller than me, but we'll see. Another girl I know, is 13 and shorter than me...I doubt she'll grow much more...her mom and dad are pretty short.

Neanderthal men were short and stocky--averaging around 5 foot 6 or so.

I've read lots of things here on WP saying that Aspies are often SHORTER than average.

What about autistic women?
I've read somewhere that they tended to be shorter than the average woman. I know I am, but only by 1-2 inches....I am 5'2".
