I used to think SMH stood for "So Much Hate" instead of "Shaking My Head". :oops:

For example, there could be people flaming over what game console is better, and I'd say "SMH (so much hate) over something so trivial such as game consoles."

Since they're both meant to express disapproval at something I guess they could be either one.

According to Urban Dictionary it can mean both.

Not unlike how FTW has two meanings

I am concerned that if I interviewed Denis Istomin and asked about what it was really like for him to grow up in Uzbekistan as a Russian, I would get myself in a lot of trouble.
