I have made it clear to my uncle that I do not want to work. My uncle works fixing houses/stuff etc so saught of like DIY.

Apparently according to my brother he has told people i don't work.

When I wonder around town during the day i notice some of his builder friends give me funny looks etc..... Today for instance said to me "hello James" in a very sinister tone.

Do you think I kind of deseve for them to behave in that way towards me?

My last job i had a mental breakdown

No, no one deserves to be spoken to like that. But, do they know you are autistic as well? I believe if they knew you had other issues and were not just acting like a spoiled brat that their tune would change. Anyway, I would not take too much stock in what they say. They will forget the whole issue by next week.

No you don't deserve to be spoken to like that. But does it even matter? I feel a lot better not worrying about what other people think especially closed-minded NT's. Obsessing over the thoughts of small-minded, opinionated people who are consistently always wrong is just going to make you feel bad. I would recommend you completely blank anyone who talks down to you; act like they don't even exist.

you do not, but it is understandable.

to the average NT, stating you dont want to work means that you admit to being lazy and wanting to leech off the government (and, by extention, the taxes this NT pays).
now, for you this isn't the case, but they don't know/realise that.
