I tried telling my problems to a therapist dog once. He just looked at me for a few minutes, licked his **** and walked away.

That's a biscuit:

It's the absolutely, most deliciously crunchy crumbly biscuit in existence, even better when one side is coated with milk chocolate. Heaven. :D

Darmok: That's a scone and should be eaten with lashings of butter, strawberry jam and clotted cream.

The scones I see here all pretty much look like these. They always have a triangular shape.

The scones I know from England are like the round ones on the right, served hot so that the butter melts. I ate American biscuits for breakfast when I was visiting the US. They were not as soft and light as British scones. They are the same shape though. The American biscuits were served with gravy, which was very strange to me. It's interesting, maybe when the first Brits crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower scones were triangular? :)

Scones are a primitive triangular form of biscuit designed for close packing in Medieval cottages. They are still in use in a few places on the periphery of civilization.

I think the only ones I have noticed are in the grocery store bakery area. Usually blueberry ones. They look quite firm rather than like a fluffy flakey dinner biscuit. Most likely an Americanized version.
