You probably don't have java installed, and if you do, you probably haven't enabled it in your browser. Or, you can try downloading a free IRC client. I recommend xchat, mIRC has too many bugs people can exploit.

You need to get either a IRC Client or Java. If you need help, I am sure one of us can assist you through IM in setting up the client or Java.
