New and Confused

So I'm not really sure why I'm here... I don't know. I turned 30 this year, was diagnosed a few months ago, and am sort of having issues coming to terms with a few things. I don't usually go on to forums, ever, or chat sites. I don't even use facebook lol. Sorry I have no idea what I am talking about lol. Anyways, I guess I'll just say hi and see what happens. I hope you are all having a wonderful day, evening, or night, depending on where you live.

I came here to meet people who face similar challenges. I dont have anyone that I know in person who is willing to talk about having Aspergers or Autism or even anxiety/depression. it is a lot easier to talk about that here.

What kind of issues are you having? Anxiety? Depression? Feeling misunderstood and having trouble relating?

Also what are some of the major influences in your life - family, occupation etc.

I am almost 49 year old accountant (birthday 1/2/67) I am married and have a 16 year old daughter (and her 17 year old boyfriend) and a 12 year old son. My wife is neurotypical, the rest of us are Aspies and very anxious.

I am bald too, though not completely.

I love video games and tabletop RPGs.

Hope to hear more from you. The more we can share our struggle and triumphs, the more we can understand ourselves and live within our skin.

H I am new here too, Don't worry, I felt the same way about Facebook! I did not have a clue about how to use it, then once I got the hang of it I could not stop posting things! (Literally had to tell the world about tons of random stuff) anyway I am new too, and do not have much of a clue BUT nothing ventured nothing gained! what harm could it do? If you don't like it after a few days or weeks then there is no one forcing you to carry on. Give it a go you might like it!

I just want to thank everyone who has welcomed me. Sorry I did not respond sooner. Also Workhorse it's not that I find Facebook overly confusing, I just tend to avoid most forms of social media; though my partner loves it lol...

Too bad social media in its' own right hates everybody. You're more justified in your aversion than you might think. I'd be much obliged to publicly explain anything in particular about how that miserable scam might be bothering you, in layman's terms or obsessive detail, take your pick. For that matter I made a thread about it. (apologies for the shameless plug!)

I am incredibly confused by the way that normal prople interact with each other.
Its good to see someone else feels the way.

Forbes lists Facebook founder's wealth at a stratospheric 46 billion dollars.
For this reason we should view the rise of social a with due degree of awe.

I just said that because I try to turn my confusion about people into intense interest.

I checked out your link Cberg, I'm impressed you're a software developer, that's not something many find easy.

Well it I wouldn't say any of us consider it easy but given the knowledge it would be tougher not to get into the work. Also, it does usually consist of staying indoors drinking tea all day... sure not my only job!
