This is one of my most beloved songs by them. When I was younger and not doing well in school (my average in Elementary school was around the 50's), as well as coping with my father's suicide, I felt like my entire childhood was a closed door to how great life can really be when effort is made to make sense of who you are and what your ultimate purpose in reality is. I feel that these important questions can be answered with a strong internal analysis of yourself and setting goals that bring yourself closer to the hidden potential that is embedded in all of us.

I lost so much weight during my first year in high school, bumped my average to a whopping 90% average and truly didn't feel worthless for the real first time in my life. I heard this song around that time, and right away I understood that my life changed for the better, and felt genuinely happy for the first time in my life. Today, I hold two honors university degrees.

Oh God it's raining
But I'm not complaining
It's filling me up with new life
The stars in the sky
Bring tears to my eyes
They're lighting my way tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

Just for a day
On a day like today
I'll get away from this constant debauchery
The wind in my hair
Makes me so aware
How good it is to live tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

The moon
Is shining in the sky
Reminding me
Of so many other nights
But they're not like tonight

Oh God it's raining
And I'm not containing
My pleasure at being so wet
Here on my own
All on my own
How good it feels to be alone tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

The moon
Is shining in the sky
Reminding me
Of so many other nights
When my eyes had been so red
I'd been mistaken for dead
But not tonight

Congratulations on your accomplishments, Deltaville!

Indeed, those lyrics are most apropos, given your past experiences and what you've achieved!

Cheers!
