I'm trying to post on this website, but it won't allow me. When I click submit, it sends me to a security page, then when I complete that it sends me back to the comment box with nothing in it. Rinse, repeat. It's irritating. help?

It is very annoying. Others have pointed out the 'captcha' spam-filter is more likely to kick in when you're quoting someone, and that seems about right from my experience.

As to the disappearing text - try clicking your 'back' button. For me, it goes:

Write something -> Click 'submit' -> Captcha screen -> Fill in Captcha box, click 'submit' -> Rather than submitting my post, I'm taken back to the 'reply' box, with all that I wrote gone.

I've found clicking 'back' on my browser takes me to a reply box where all I wrote is once again present. Then 'submit', the Captcha kerfuffle, and success!

Or if your posts are too long or take too long to write it'll get you. Copy and paste. It's what I usually have to do.

It's pretty ridiculous to go through a process for a simple reply, and this isn't the first time this has been an issue on this site. It's been ongoing for the better part of at least 4 years that i know of.

the whole captcha thing happens at random times to me. it is annoying, as I've been on this forum for years and this has only recently happened.

Same here, it's so annoying. What's more annoying is realizing that posts you have lost before could have been saved by just going back :/ Fortunately I only lost 1 or 2 posts from this.

This is me hoping that the above will be what the powers that be plan to fix during tonight's scheduled downtime/maintenance.
